Me @ Fishbowl:
"From bringing The Fishbowl Network (TFBN) into existence to helping it take its first baby steps, saying it has been a rollercoaster ride would still be an understatement. As the founder of the organization, I have been involved in a slew of initiatives that TFBN has taken over time. The journey started with conceptualizing Furore as an e-magazine that would not only prove to be an indelible platform for expression to the many aspiring writers, but also enhance the reading experience by imbuing the writing with dollops of graphic art and design. By default then, it also becomes a platform for the graphic artists. My official role in Furore involved being the editor for 2 issues and associate editor for some more. Reaching out to the fellow brethren and sisterhood of writers and give shape to the vision of this network was another thing I have been involved in for a long time. I have also been a part of hosting and participating in social initiative events that promote causes encompassing education and children through TFBN's social responsibility. Helping put writers participate in several international writing events was something I greatly enjoyed doing, partly because of the sheer diversity that exists in the writing styles and among the writers themselves. Right now, I'm working with a terrific team of inspiring people to make forays into the e-publishing market and to provide our writers with better visibility."
Hobbies, Interests and Ambitions:
"Hobbies are just interests that I have ended up following with passion bordering on obsession. And then are some interests that I hadn't intended to pursue aggressively but ended up doing so. Herding cats, for an example. Getting lost in seemingly impossible places to get lost in is another. Among the voluntarily obsessions though, nothing beats reading on my list. I have had a low entropy, steady state love affair with books for as long as I can remember, and the romance continues undiminished. My taste is eclectic at best, though predominantly biased towards science, technology, economics and science fiction. People watching is another hobby of mine that I became aware of only recently-because I didn't know they had a term for this. The following would have made their way to the preceding list if only I had a time turner and could pursue them in my new 48-hour day! Painting for one. I love doing children book illustrations and hope to see myself doing a lot of that in the near future. Adventure sports, finding answers to questions that don't let me sleep, exploring different culture and cuisine and trying to master the knack for flying (the Hitchhiker's Guide's style) make up some of my other interests. Three subjects I very strongly identify with are science, education and children. How can I connect these three and with the first's help, better the second among the third? That is the question that often troubles my mind and is a dream that keeps me awake. Needless to say, this is one question I intend to pursue, find an answer and seek to implement."
