Me @ Fishbowl:
"My journey with the Fishbowl Network started with a three-month internship. During this time, I mainly wrote for the Fishbowl blog and freelance articles. Once I became a permanent member, the work has been versatile. The freelance articles have continued. But thereís so much more. Writing for Furore magazine has been a pleasure. The changing themes keeps the work challenging. The Fishbowl newsletter and Google Plus pages are the other sides. For the past few months, I have been working with a group of external interns. This has been a huge responsibility and a great learning experience. My best contribution to Fishbowl, though, has been through competitions. I have been in charge of handling the writing contests entered by Fishbowl. We mainly participate in competitions on FanStory.com. I pick a small group of writers every month and coordinate their work. This involves planning the schedule, picking the right contests, getting the entries from the writers and posting it on the site. I also get back to the writers with the reviews their entries get. FanStory is a great platform for experimentation and growing as a writer. Working with different people and their own different writing styles has helped me evolve as a writer myself. I got proof when I won a poetry contest on FanStory.com. Working with Fishbowl has been amazing so far and I hope to do better and better."
Hobbies, Interests and Ambitions:
"I have a plethora of hobbies and I love each one of them. If music is food for the soul, guitar and keyboard are my fork and knife. I love the peace that music brings: a bridge to another world. I play a number of sports. But tennis and throwball are my favourites. Of course, being a hard-core Roger Federer fan, watching him play is a hobby in itself. Although I donít own a DSLR, I love photography and image editing. Reading is my ideal pastime and curling up with a book is a heavenly pleasure. On the less beaten track, I have a certain penchant for making birthday presents. I love the smile and surprise they bring in people. And yes, I havenít mentioned writing so far because it has become so much more than a hobby. Phew, thatís a handful! Apart from writing, my foremost area of interest would be science, especially astronomy. Planets, stars, pulsars and pretty much anything outside our realm called earth fascinate me; black holes being the pick among them. I canít say why. They just intrigue me. Theoretical physics and cosmology are subjects I like learning about the most. Stephen Hawking is my Ďfavoured geniusí. Within the planetary boundary, the object of my fascination is the human mind. Psychology is something I love thinking and reading about. The power of the mind over us is beyond measure. As such, I just like putting my brain to use and anything that involves reasoning, logic or creativity is within my sphere of interest. ďTo make something special, you just have to believe itís special.Ē This simple but powerful quote from the movie Kung Fu Panda is something I always keep in mind. I believe in charting my own path. And I donít believe in putting limits to capability. Though the chart isnít yet complete, someday it will be. I donít like looking too far ahead. I prefer forging the chain link-by-link. After all, the journey is the destination. And some day when itís done, I wish to look back and say, I lived a life with no regrets. Whether thatíll happen is a question I canít answer. What I can say is this- Iíll never stop trying."
